“I Tondo” (primo tondo)
Meeting the Chef Giancarlo Perbellini drew her attention to the catering business and facilities. In 2014 she designed the “Dolce Locanda” and the “Casa Perbellini” where she also designed furniture, that was brought to life by the master craftsmen of Bruno Piombini. The enthusiasm of Silvia and craft skills of the company Bruno Piombini gave impetus to a new partnership, and 2015 sees the creation of the “I Tondo”, a table designed and developed for the Chef Perbellini, with the vision of complement and enhance his dishes.
The idea behind “I Tondo” was born from the concept of a serving tray where the plates or rather, the “artwork” created by Giancarlo, will be placed upon.
The tray is the darker and larger element placed in the center of the table, to support the lighter wooden insert where the dishes are laid; while a bronze disk becomes the centerpiece of the table that is joint to the central leg underneath, which is inserted into a base also in bronze.
The truncated cone shape of the table leg completes the table, as it supports the tray without hindrance, allowing for the guests to congregate.
